One of the first things that was noticeable when you started coaching was the boys played much better team soccer. The boys playing without the ball were much more disciplined to stay in their lanes and get open for a pass.
The key players on the Woodbury highschool team were players on your team over the last 2 seasons. As you know their team had a awsome year and went on to take 2nd place in the State highschool tourney this last year.
You can be proud that you had a hand in helping develop many of the core boys on the state team. Two of them were selected on the all state team and 4 were on the all tournament team.

I've been very impressed with the training sessions -- a clear focus for each outing, good activities and a challenging work rate, a good mix of conditioning and skills at pace, and mostly your keeping them in motion as you make your teaching points. I also like how you've gotten progressively more serious and tougher on them as you figured them out. As for Seamus's opinion, he really likes your training sessions and how you manage the team in matches. He would gladly play for you anytime (he's been around the game a long time and doesn't always feel this way) and is willing to listen to and try anything that you say, because he respects your opinion. I also think he'll work as hard as he can, if he thinks you've given him something to work on that will improve his game. I think such respect is the most important currency a coach can have with kids."

"I must say that Coach Mark has done an excellent job with the MU Starz Team. This was the first year for this team to play at C1 level of performance. How fortunate we were to have a Class A coach with his professional soccer background, to take over the coaching duties of this team. Our team consists of many races and different levels of talent. He has done a remarkable job of taking a group of unfocused boys and push them through the short Fall season 2007, in league games and a tournament. His apparent wealth of soccer experience, knowledge of diet and nuitrition, ball marstery skills, creating set plays, achieving team chemistry, productive and efficient team training activities was exceptional.
